American pop star Beyoncé won the Grammy award for 'Album of the Year.'
On the 2nd (local time), at the 67th Grammy Awards held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Beyoncé was selected as the winner of 'Album of the Year' for her album 'Cowboy Carter.'
Beyoncé, who appeared on stage in surprise at the announcement of her award, expressed her gratitude, saying, "I thank the artists who accepted this album as it is" and noted, "I am so amazed and grateful."
Beyoncé has been nominated for a total of 99 Grammys and has won 32 times. However, this is her first time winning 'Album of the Year.'
Last year at the Grammys, Beyoncé's husband Jay-Z received the honorary 'Dr. Dre Global Impact' award and criticized, saying, "She (Beyoncé) has won the most Grammys but has never won 'Album of the Year.'"
On that day, Beyoncé also won the Best Country Album and Country Duo or Group Performance awards. Notably, she is the first Black artist to receive the country album award since this institutional sector was established in 1964.
