Donald Trump, the President of the United States, declared on the 20th (local time) that he would again withdraw from the Paris Agreement on climate change in response to global warming.
The White House noted this shortly after Trump took the oath of office. The United States also withdrew from the climate change agreement during Trump's first term, and later returned under the Biden administration.
Moreover, Trump emphasized in his inaugural address that he would end the Biden administration's "Green New Deal" (eco-friendly economic growth policy) and abolish the mandatory electric vehicle regulations.
Trump said, "We will save our auto industry and keep our sacred commitment to great American auto workers," adding, "From now on, you will have the freedom to choose to buy cars again. We will raise the pace of car production in America to levels that were unimaginable a few years ago."
