On Jan. 20 (local time), President Donald Trump officially took office as the 47th president during the inauguration ceremony held at the Rotunda (central hall) of the Capitol in Washington, D.C.
In his inauguration speech, Trump declared, "The golden age of America begins now," and added, "I will simply put America first," proclaiming 'America First' just like in his first inaugural address.
He continued, "We will build the most powerful military the world has ever seen," but noted, "We will measure our success not just by the battles we win, but by the wars we end, and perhaps most importantly, by the wars we do not start."
Trump emphasized, "In the Trump administration, there will not be a single day where we are taken advantage of by other countries," adding, "We will reclaim our sovereignty and restore our safety." He specifically mentioned changing the name of the 'Gulf of Mexico' to 'Gulf of America' and reclaiming the operational rights of the Panama Canal.
He specifically outlined his 'America First' policy. Trump stated that he would expand tariffs on foreign goods and declared the end of the 'Green New Deal,' which is the Biden administration's pro-environmental industrial policy, including preferential treatment for electric vehicles. He also stated that he would declare a 'national emergency' at the southern border.
Despite losing the 2020 presidential election and stepping down as a one-term president, Trump made a splendid return to the White House after winning by landslide in the Nov. 5 election last year, despite four criminal indictments due to the Capitol riot and other incidents. Born in 1946, he entered the White House at the age of 78 years and 7 months, making him the oldest president in history.

Thank you. Thank you to all of you. Really, thank you very much. Vice President Vance, Speaker Johnson, Senator Tune, Chief Justice Roberts, judges of the U.S. Supreme Court, former Presidents Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Biden, Vice President Harris, and fellow citizens.
The golden age of America begins now.
From today, our nation will prosper once again and be respected around the globe. We will be the envy of all nations and will no longer be taken advantage of. Throughout the days of the Trump administration, I will put America first. We will reclaim our sovereignty. Our safety will be restored. The scales of justice will be balanced once again. The malicious, violent, and unfair weaponization of the Department of Justice and our government will come to an end. And our top priority will be to create a proud, prosperous, and free nation.
America will soon be greater, stronger, and more special than ever before. I return to the presidency with confidence and an optimistic heart, standing at the starting point of a thrilling new era of national success. A wave of change is sweeping over America, the world is showered in sunlight, and America has an opportunity to seize this moment like never before.
But first, we must be honest about the challenges we face. While the challenges are many, they will fade away under the tremendous momentum currently witnessing in America.
As we gather today, our government is facing a crisis of trust. For years, the radical and corrupt elite have stripped power and wealth from our citizens, leaving the pillars of our society shattered and utterly broken.
We now have a government that cannot even manage the simple crises at home, while at the same time stumbling over ongoing disastrous events abroad. They are failing to protect our great law-abiding American citizens, while offering refuge and protection to countless criminals who entered America illegally and dangerous offenders released from mental institutions.
We have a government that endlessly funds foreign border defenses, yet refuses to defend our borders, and more importantly, the American people. As the great people of North Carolina have recently shown, our country can no longer provide basic services during emergencies. Other states still suffering from the hurricanes that occurred months ago also highlight this.
Recently, in Los Angeles, we have been watching tragically raging wildfires for weeks now. The flames are sweeping away homes and communities, affecting even some of the wealthiest and most influential individuals in our nation who are sitting here today. They are left without homes. It's interesting, but we cannot allow this to happen. No one can do anything about it. That will change.
We have a public health system that fails to respond properly when disasters strike, even while spending more money on that system than any other country in the world. And we have an education system that teaches children to feel ashamed of themselves and, in many cases, to hate our country despite our desperate efforts to provide them with love. All of this will change starting today, and it will change very quickly.
The reason I was recently elected is to completely overturn the terrible betrayals and hold accountable those responsible for the countless betrayals that have occurred. I aim to restore the faith, wealth, democracy, and freedom of the people.
From now on, the decline of America will end. Our freedom and the glorious destiny of our nation will no longer be denied, and we will immediately restore the integrity, capability, and loyalty of the American government. Over the past eight years, I have faced more tests and challenges than any president in 250 years of history, and through that process, I have learned so much. The journey to reclaim our republic has not been easy.
Those who seek to stop our great cause have attempted to take away my freedom and, in fact, my life. Just months ago, a bullet from an assassin pierced my ear in the beautiful fields of Pennsylvania. But what I felt then and am further convinced of now is that there is a reason why my life has been spared. I have been saved by God to make America great again. Thank you. Thank you very much.
So under the management of American patriots, every day we will strive to overcome every crisis with dignity, strength, and resilience. We will move with purpose and speed to bring hope, prosperity, safety, and peace back to all citizens of every race, religion, color, and belief. For American citizens, Jan. 20, 2025, is the day of liberation.
As our victory shows, with the rapid increase in support from almost all members of our society (young and old, men and women, African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, urban, suburban, rural, etc.), the nation is quickly unifying in support of our agenda. We have also won overwhelming victories in all seven battleground states and garnered the support of millions from the public.
To the Black and Hispanic communities, thank you for the tremendous love and trust you have shown me with your votes. We shattered records, and I will not forget it. I heard your voices during the campaign, and I look forward to working with you in the future. Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and it will be a great honor to commemorate him. However, to honor him, we must work together to make his dream a reality. We will realize his dream. Thank you. Thank you.
America is once again achieving national unity, and the confidence and pride are higher than ever. In everything we do, our government will be inspired by a strong will to pursue excellence and continual success. We will not forget our country. We will not forget our constitution and our God. We cannot forget that.
Today, I will consecutively announce historic executive orders. Through these measures, we will start a complete recovery of America and a common-sense revolution. Common sense is everything.
First, I will declare a national emergency at the southern border. All illegal immigration will be immediately halted, and we will begin the process of sending millions of criminal aliens back to where they came from.
I will restore the policies that remain in Mexico. We will end the practice of capturing and releasing. And to prevent catastrophic invasions of our country, I will deploy military forces to the southern border.
Under the orders I sign today, we will designate the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. By invoking the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, I will direct our government to mobilize the powerful resources of federal and state law enforcement agencies to eliminate the presence of all foreign gangs and criminal organizations that inflict destructive crimes on American soil. I believe that nothing is more important than my responsibility as commander-in-chief to protect our nation from threats and invasions, and I will do just that. We will do it at a level nobody has ever seen before.
Next, I will empower all members of the cabinet to combat record inflation and rapidly reduce costs and prices.
The inflation crisis has arisen due to massive expenditures and a surge in energy prices. Therefore, today I will declare a national energy emergency. We will continue training.
America will become a manufacturing powerhouse once again, and we have what no other manufacturing power has. We hold the largest amounts of oil and gas on Earth, and we will use it, and they will use it. We will lower prices, refill strategic reserves to all-time highs, and we will export American energy around the world.
We will once again be a prosperous nation, and what makes that possible is this flowing gold beneath our feet.
With the actions I will take today, we will end the Green New Deal and abolish mandatory purchases of electric vehicles to revive the automobile industry and fulfill a promise to America's great automotive workers.
In other words, you will be able to purchase the cars you desire. We will once again produce cars in America at a speed that nobody could have imagined just a few years ago, and I thank you for your votes that have restored faith in American auto workers. We have achieved tremendous success with their votes.
I will immediately begin the overhaul of the trade system to protect American workers and families. Instead of taxing our citizens to enrich other countries, we will impose tariffs and taxes on foreign countries to enrich our citizens.
To achieve this, we are establishing an External Revenue Service to collect all tariffs and duties. Enormous sums of money will flow into our treasury from abroad. The American Dream is soon to return and prosper more than ever.
Restoring trust and effective functioning is up to our federal government. My administration will establish a new Department of Government Efficiency.
For years, the federal government has put forth illegal and unconstitutional efforts to restrict freedom of expression, so I will also sign an executive order to immediately stop all government censorship and restore freedom of expression in America. We will not use the enormous power of the state to suppress political opponents again. As far as I know, regarding what I know. We will not allow such things to happen. That will not happen again.
Under my leadership, we will restore fair, equal, and just justice in accordance with the rule of law guaranteed by our Constitution, and we will restore law and order to our cities.
This week, we will also put an end to the government's policy of socially manipulating race and gender in all aspects of public and private life. We will create a society where individuals are evaluated based on their abilities regardless of skin color. As of today, the official policy of the American government is that there are only two genders: male and female.
This week, we will reinstate all military personnel who were unfairly discharged for opposing mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations and pay their full salaries. I will also sign an order to prevent soldiers from being exposed to radical political theories and social experiments while serving. That will be immediately stopped.
Our military will be focused solely on the mission of defeating America's enemies.
Like in 2017, we will once again build the most powerful military in the world. We will measure our success not just by the battles we win, but by the wars we end, and perhaps most importantly, by the wars we do not intervene in.
I will be most proud of my legacy as a peacemaker and unifier. I want to be known as a peacemaker and unifier. Just one day before my inauguration, I was delighted to hear that hostages in the Middle East were returning to their families.
Thank you. America will regain its rightful place as the greatest, most powerful, and most respected nation on Earth, inspiring admiration from all people across the globe.
Soon, we will change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, and return the great president William McKinley's name to Mount McKinley. President McKinley made our country very rich through tariffs and talent. He was a born businessman, providing funds for many great deeds he accomplished, including the Panama Canal under Theodore Roosevelt. The Panama Canal was foolishly transferred to Panama after America. The U.S. spent more money on it than on any previous project, sacrificing the lives of 38,000 people in its construction.
We have suffered very badly due to this foolish gift, and the promises of Panama have been broken. The purpose of our transactions and the spirit of our treaties have been completely undermined. U.S. ships are charged excessive fees, and they are not receiving fair treatment in any way, shape, or form. This includes the U.S. Navy as well. Most importantly, China operates the Panama Canal, and we are reclaiming what we handed over not to Panama, but to China.
Above all, the message I want to convey to Americans today is that we are once again poised to unleash courage, vitality, and the spirit of the greatest civilization in history. Therefore, as we liberate our nation, we will lead it to a new dimension of victory and success. We will never give up.
We will work together to end the epidemic of chronic illness and make our children safe, healthy, and free from disease. America will again be perceived as a growing country that increases its wealth, expands its territory, builds its cities, raises expectations, and moves toward new and beautiful horizons, flag in hand.
And we will pursue our manifest destiny to send American astronauts to Mars and plant our flag there.
Ambition is the lifeline of great nations, and right now our nation is overflowing with ambition like never before. There is no nation like our country. Americans are explorers, builders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and pioneers. The pioneering spirit is etched in our hearts. The call to the next great adventure resonates within our souls.
The ancestors of America made a powerful republic out of a small group of colonies on the edge of a vast continent, made up of the most special citizens on Earth. No one can compare to them. Americans traversed thousands of miles across untamed wild lands.
They crossed deserts, climbed mountains, faced countless dangers, conquered the West, abolished slavery, rescued millions from tyranny, liberated billions from poverty, harnessed electricity, split the atom, launched humanity into the sky, and placed the world of human knowledge in the palm of their hands.
If we work together, there is nothing we cannot achieve, and there are no dreams we cannot realize. Many people thought I would not be able to make a historic political comeback. But as you see today, here I am. Chosen by the American people. I stand before you now. This is proof that you should never believe that anything is impossible.
In America, impossibility is what we do best. From New York to Los Angeles, from Philadelphia to Phoenix, from Chicago to Miami, from Houston to right here in Washington, D.C., our country was made by generations of patriots who sacrificed everything for our rights and freedoms. They were farmers and soldiers, cowboys and factory workers, steelworkers and miners, and police officers, they forged ahead as pioneers, marching, undeterred by any obstacle that might break their spirit or pride.
They laid railroads together, built skyscrapers, constructed great highways, won two world wars, defeated fascism and communism, and overcame every challenge they faced. Considering all we have experienced together, we stand on the threshold of the greatest four years in American history. With your help, we will reclaim the promise of America and rebuild the country we love and cherish.
We are one nation, one family, and one glorious country under God. So for every parent dreaming of a child and for every child dreaming of a future, I will be with you. I will fight for you and win for you. We will achieve unprecedented victories. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Our nation has suffered greatly over the past few years, but we will turn that around and make it great once again. Greater than ever before. We will be a nation filled with compassion, courage, and excellence that cannot be compared to any other country. Our strength will bring about a new spirit of unity, stopping all wars and fostering peace in a world filled with anger, violence, and chaos.
America will be respected once again, and will be respected by those with religion, faith, and goodwill. We will thrive. We will be proud. We will grow stronger and achieve unprecedented victories. We will not be conquered. We will not be fearful. We will not break, nor will we fail.
From today, America will be a free, sovereign, and independent nation. We will fight courageously. We will live proudly. We will boldly dream, and nothing will stop us as Americans.
The future is ours, and our golden age has just begun. Thank you. God bless America. Thank you all. Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you.
