Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) said on the 14th that it hosted the "technology exchange meeting with large and mid-sized corporations for market entry of corporations admitted to the 2026 Deep Tech Startup Academy" in Yangcheon District, Seoul.
The 198 corporations admitted to this year's deep tech advanced course are technology-intensive startups recognized for technological excellence, business viability, and growth potential. They possess proprietary core technologies and intellectual property, and many have entered the technology verification stage for industrial field application.
Despite securing technological capabilities, opportunities were lacking to collaborate with on-site departments at large and mid-sized corporations, so Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) arranged the technology exchange meeting. Admitted corporations interacted with large and mid-sized corporations with technological needs and sought opportunities for proof of concept (PoC) and business collaboration.
At the event held on the 11th, six large and mid-sized corporations in AI and telecommunications, cloud, education, IT infrastructure, and semiconductors joined as demand institutions along with the corporations admitted to the Deep Tech Startup Academy. Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) operated the program in three stages, supporting on-site discussions and follow-up consultations after pre-matching admitted corporations based on the areas of desired collaboration presented by the demand institutions.
First, a seminar was held in which each demand institution explained its collaboration strategy and direction. Then the admitted corporations visited the demand institutions. The participating corporations introduced their technologies and solutions and discussed the possibility of expanding collaboration to include proof of concept, purchasing, technology transfer, and investment.
Lim Ji-hyeon, head of the Youth Startup Academy at Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME), said, "We will expand collaboration opportunities with large and mid-sized corporations so that the innovative technologies of deep tech startup corporations can be verified in real industrial settings and lead to commercialization outcomes."
Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) is running programs to expand proof-of-concept opportunities for corporations admitted to the Deep Tech Startup Academy and to support entry into and phased establishment in domestic and overseas markets. It plans to operate follow-up linkage programs so that these efforts can be connected to commercialization outcomes.
