Lexus Korea said on the 14th that it began taking preorders for the midsize-large sedan "All-new ES" at official Lexus dealer showrooms nationwide.
Set for official domestic release on Nov. 13, the all-new ES is the eighth-generation full redesign and comes in nine models in total, including four hybrid (HEV) models and, for the first time in the ES lineup, five battery electric vehicle (BEV) models.
The newly added BEV lineup consists of the front-wheel-drive (FWD) "ES 350e" and the all-wheel-drive (AWD) "ES 500e." The ES 350e secures a certified combined driving range of 478 kilometers on a single charge at normal temperature under domestic standards. The ES 500e adopts the all-wheel-drive system "DIRECT4" that precisely controls front and rear driving force, delivering strong output and stable driving performance.
Lexus Korea set the starting price of the ES 350e at 71.6 million won to boost price competitiveness. It is also introducing the residual value guarantee installment program "Amazing Switch." For the ES 350e Premium model, a base residual value of 50% (35.8 million won) is guaranteed three years after purchase, and up to 60% applies when including the deferred amount. With a 30% down payment, 20% security deposit, 5.8% interest, and a 36-month term, the monthly payment is in the 420,000-won range.
The hybrid model "ES 350h" adopts the sixth-generation hybrid system. Through downsizing and weight reduction, it enhances efficiency and acceleration performance while delivering the ES's signature quietness. The ES HEV lineup also newly adds an all-wheel-drive (AWD) model.
The all-new ES expands its body size and wheelbase to secure a roomier interior than the previous model. In particular, generous rear-seat space improves passenger comfort and livability. Inside, it features a large 14-inch display, a "responsive hidden switch" that appears when needed, and a "multi-ambient light" that can create various atmospheres.
Including value-added taxes and a 5% special consumption tax, the suggested retail prices for the BEV lineup are ▲ ES 350e Premium 71.6 million won, ▲ ES 350e Luxury 80.2 million won, ▲ ES 350e VIP 83.9 million won, ▲ ES 500e Premium 77 million won, and ▲ ES 500e Luxury 84.9 million won.
The suggested retail prices for the HEV lineup are ▲ ES 350h Premium 72.9 million won, ▲ ES 350h Luxury 77.8 million won, ▲ ES 350h AWD Premium 75.9 million won, and ▲ ES 350h AWD Luxury 80.8 million won.
Kang Dae-hwan, vice president of Lexus Korea, said, "The Lexus ES has led growth in the domestic premium hybrid market and is a flagship model that has built customer trust in Lexus electrification technology," adding, "The newly introduced all-new ES will offer electrified choices tailored to customers' diverse lifestyles and usage environments."
