Korean Air Lines said on the 11th it will resume service on the Incheon–Oita route from Oct. 25 to Mar. 26 next year.
The Oita route will operate four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The flight from Incheon departs Incheon International Airport at 9:15 a.m. and arrives at Oita Airport at 10:50 a.m. The return flight leaves Oita at 12 p.m. and arrives in Incheon at 1:45 p.m.
The aircraft will be the Airbus A321neo with a total of 182 seats. It has eight seats in Prestige Class and 174 in Economy Class. Prestige Class features seats that recline to 180 degrees, and standard seats come with 33-centimeter personal monitors and adjustable headrests.
Oita Prefecture is a hot spring tourism destination in the northeast of Japan's Kyushu. Beppu and Yufuin are representative spots, and the area sees high demand for hot spring travel in winter.
With the resumption of the Oita route, Korean Air Lines will connect five cities in Kyushu, including Fukuoka, Kumamoto, Nagasaki and Kagoshima. Travelers can combine different airports within Kyushu for arrival and departure to build multi‑segment itineraries.
A Korean Air Lines official said, "With the resumption of the Oita route, the air network connecting the five Kyushu cities of Fukuoka, Kumamoto, Nagasaki and Kagoshima is complete," and added, "We will continue to expand our network of routes to offer convenient travel options."
