AIR BUSAN(298690) said on the 10th that it will operate a Busan–Kagoshima, Japan, non-scheduled service three times a week (Wednesday, Friday, Sunday) starting on the 25th of next month.
For this non-scheduled service, the flight departs Gimhae International Airport at 3:55 p.m. and arrives at Kagoshima Airport at 5:15 p.m. The return flight departs the local airport at 6:35 p.m. and arrives at Gimhae International Airport at 7:55 p.m. The one-way flight time is about 1 hour 20 minutes.
Kagoshima, a representative destination in southern Kyushu, Japan, is famous for the majestic active volcano "Sakurajima" and the globally rare "black sand steam bath hot spring." Yakushima, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site that served as the background for the animated film "Princess Mononoke," is also in Kagoshima.
AIR BUSAN is actively developing routes to small and medium-sized Japanese cities this year, diversifying its Japan route network. As a result, from the start of the year through last month, the total number of flights and passengers on AIR BUSAN's Japan routes departing Busan increased by about 10% and about 12%, respectively, from a year earlier.
An AIR BUSAN official said, "Kagoshima has high travel demand thanks to its mild weather year-round and excellent tourism resources, but direct flights from Busan have been limited," adding, "With continuous operations this winter season, we expect a significant improvement in local residents' travel convenience and schedule options."
Tickets for this non-scheduled service can be booked through the AIR BUSAN website, mobile web/app, and designated travel agencies. The designated agencies are ▲Hanatour ▲Modetour Network ▲Very Good Tour ▲Tour Phone ▲Y Tour & Golf.
