POSCO Group said on the 3rd that it will hire a three-digit number of new employees in the second half at six group companies, including POSCO Holdings' Institute of Future Technology and POSCO.
POSCO Holdings' Institute of Future Technology, POSCO, POSCO International, POSCO E&C, POSCO DX, and the Research Institute of Industrial Science & Technology (RIST) will take part in this open recruitment. The companies will hire entry-level employees for more than 60 roles, including production and facility engineering, sales and marketing, safety and health, and artificial intelligence (AI).
They will also expand hiring for AI and robotics talent. POSCO Holdings' Institute of Future Technology will recruit researchers in robot perception and control, and POSCO and POSCO DX will hire talent to lead AX (AI transformation) in manufacturing and office functions. POSCO newly created an "AI engineer" role to handle on-site automation and work innovation using AI technologies.
POSCO also revamped the self-introduction section in its hiring process. It removed the previous self-introduction questions and replaced them with a "on- and off-campus activities" section where applicants describe experiences and activities undertaken to build job competencies. The aim is to let applicants write more freely about job-related experiences and strengths instead of following a fixed self-introduction format.
By company, POSCO Holdings' Institute of Future Technology will recruit researchers in robot perception and control; cathode materials for sodium-ion batteries and LFP; brine-lithium processes; hydrometallurgical refining; and the refining and smelting of resources and lithium-ion battery (LiB) materials. POSCO will hire engineers in production, facilities, and process technology; AI; and safety, health, and environment, as well as staff for marketing, procurement, finance, human resources (HR), and researchers for low-carbon steel technology development.
POSCO International will hire entry-level employees in corporate planning and support; steel, mobility, materials, and grain sales; machinery and instrumentation engineering; the LNG business; and production evaluation. POSCO E&C will recruit in plants, architecture, safety, corporate planning, and management innovation; POSCO DX will recruit in IT and OT engineering and AI and corporate planning; and RIST will recruit across research, technology, and administrative roles.
The recruitment ties in with the "triple-core" business structure POSCO Group released in July. POSCO Group announced a strategy to build a triple-core system with industrial resources, strategic resources, and energy resources as its three pillars and to expand related businesses. The group plans to secure and develop talent to lead these businesses through this hiring.
Applications will be accepted on the POSCO recruitment website until 3 p.m. on the 16th. POSCO Group plans to hold both online and offline recruitment briefings during the application period, along with job counseling sessions featuring on-the-job employees.
