Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) said on the 2nd that the number of subscribers to the "preferential savings and contribution plan for SME employees," which helps SME employees build asset and stay long term, has surpassed 40,000.
Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) held the 3rd "preferential savings and contribution plan for SME employees institutional council" in Seoul on the day. Attendees included Personnel Growth Executive Director Cho Han-gyo of KOSME; Oh Ji-young, head of the personnel policy division at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups; and vice presidents from the partner banks IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, Hana, KB Kookmin and NH NongHyup, who discussed ways to expand subscribers.
Since its launch in Oct. 2024, the preferential savings and contribution plan has steadily added subscribers and this year topped 40,000. KOSME plans to use this as a springboard to upgrade the program so it can establish itself as a contribution scheme that supports SME employees' asset building and long-term employment.
At this council, participants discussed not only strengthening cooperation with partner banks but also improvement measures to boost subscriptions. They exchanged views on discovering and expanding co-prosperity collaboration-type contribution products with midsize and large corporations by leveraging bank networks, activating collaboration systems between the partner banks' regional headquarters and KOSME's regional headquarters and branches, and diversifying the ratio of corporate contributions.
In addition, the agency plans to improve the product structure so corporations can choose the burden ratio. It will reflect corporate demand by improving the previously fixed corporate burden ratio of 20% so that corporations can choose either 20% or 40%.
KOSME Personnel Growth Executive Director Cho Han-gyo said, "The fact that subscribers to the preferential savings and contribution plan have surpassed 40,000 is the result of agreeing with and cooperating on the program's purpose of supporting SME employees' asset building and long-term employment," adding, "We will continue to promote subscription activation and system expansion through cooperation with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) and financial institutions."
