Eastar Jet Co. said on the 1st it began regular service between Daegu and Zhangjiajie in China. It comes about five months after securing traffic rights from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in April.
Eastar Jet Co.'s Daegu–Zhangjiajie route operates twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays, with the outbound flight departing Daegu International Airport at 11:15 a.m. and the return flight departing Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport at 2:35 p.m.
Eastar Jet Co. held a launch event at Daegu International Airport on the morning of the 1st to mark the start of the Daegu–Zhangjiajie route.
Attendees included Chief Executive Cho Jung-seok of Eastar Jet Co.; Daegu Mayor Choo Kyung-ho; Daegu Metropolitan Council Chairman Lim In-hwan; and Heo Ju-hee, head of the Glocal Business Division at Korea Airports Corporation (KAC), among others.
Chief Executive Cho said, "With the launch of the Daegu–Zhangjiajie route, we hope not only to broaden travel choices for residents of the Yeongnam region but also to help invigorate the local tourism industry and economy."
