On the 1st, KG Group Chairman Kwak Jae-seon took office as chairman of KG Mobility Platform (K Car) at KG Tower in Jung-gu, Seoul. The aim is to build an integrated mobility ecosystem by linking KG Mobility(003620) and K Car's business capabilities.
At the inauguration ceremony held at KG Tower in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the same day, Chairman Kwak said, "We must make KG Mobility Platform a sustainable company that can survive and grow on its own," and added, "We must become a company that enriches the world through the services and value we provide."
Kwak plans to build an integrated mobility ecosystem by linking business capabilities ranging from new car manufacturing to finance, rental cars, and certified used cars. KG Mobility Platform operates K Car, a directly managed used-car platform. Based on a direct-sales system in which vehicles are purchased, inspected, and managed in-house, it has expanded its business scope to include online purchase services, quality assurance services, and support for person-to-person transactions.
In particular, the plan is to leverage K Car's directly managed used-car distribution network and digital platform capabilities. K Car operates a direct model in which vehicles are purchased, inspected, and managed in-house before sale; the online purchase service "Buy My Car Home Service"; the quality assurance service "K Car Warranty"; and a long-term rental car business. As of September, there are 48 directly managed locations nationwide.
It will also expand overseas operations. Beyond existing used-car exports, it plans to gradually establish a platform business model that conducts both vehicle purchasing and sales locally.
