AIR BUSAN said on the 1st that it will begin with charter flights on the Busan–Guangzhou route and move to launch regular service within the year.
AIR BUSAN will first operate charter flights on the Busan–Guangzhou route from the 2nd to Oct. 21. This operation marks AIR BUSAN's first Guangzhou-bound flight departing from Busan, with a 232-seat A321-200neo (NEO) aircraft to be deployed.
AIR BUSAN will be the sole operator of the Busan–Guangzhou route, flying twice a week (Wednesdays and Saturdays). Flights depart Gimhae International Airport at 10 p.m. and arrive at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 12:45 a.m. the next day, with the return leg leaving the local airport at 2:05 a.m. and arriving at Gimhae International Airport at 6:30 a.m.
Starting Dec. 2, the Busan–Guangzhou route will transition to regular service, beginning full-scale operations. Based on traffic rights allocated early this year, regular flights are planned four times a week (Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays). The Guangzhou branch was recently established, and organizational adjustments for stable operations have been completed.
Ticket purchases vary by operation type. Charter flights can be booked through AIR BUSAN-designated travel agencies, including ▲ Hanatour ▲ Modetour Network Inc. ▲ Kyowon Tour ▲ Tourphone ▲ The Tour, among others, while regular flights can be purchased through the AIR BUSAN website and mobile app.
An AIR BUSAN official said, "The Busan–Guangzhou route is being resumed at Gimhae International Airport for the first time in about six years," adding, "We expect it will not only greatly enhance air travel convenience for local residents but also serve as an important milestone in diversifying our route portfolio."
Meanwhile, AIR BUSAN plans to actively expand China routes departing from Busan, operating charter flights to Chengdu twice a week (Thursdays and Sundays) starting on the 3rd, in addition to Guangzhou.
