Nine Doosan Enerbility employees who were stranded locally by the massive floods in Nepal and later rescued returned home on the 31st. The site manager remained there to support the search for the missing.
Doosan Enerbility said that nine employees rescued from the flood site in Nepal arrived in Korea this afternoon. They reunited with their families after undergoing health checkups immediately upon return. No employees are known to require hospitalization or have difficulty moving at this time.
A Doosan Enerbility representative said, "The nine employees are physically and psychologically very exhausted after experiencing a sudden disaster and isolation," adding, "The company respected the employees' wishes, minimized outside contact, and allowed them to quietly reunite with their families to regain stability."
Doosan Enerbility said it will make every effort to search for the six employees who remain out of contact. The company said, "There are families anxiously waiting for their safe return," adding, "We are focusing all efforts on prioritizing the search and rescue of the missing employees."
On the 26th, a large-scale flood in the Rasuwa region of northern Nepal left Korean workers at a local hydropower plant construction site missing. So far, a total of nine people, including six Korean employees of Doosan Enerbility and two employees of Korea South-East Power (KOEN), remain out of contact.
