Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) said on the 28th that it passed the transition audit for the anti-bribery management system (ISO 37001:2025) and the first surveillance audit for the compliance management system (ISO 37301:2021), maintaining its international standard certifications.
ISO 37001 and ISO 37301 are certification programs established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). They evaluate whether, respectively, the systems that prevent and manage corruption risks within an organization and the systems that manage compliance with laws and ethical norms are operated in line with international standards.
Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) carried out improvement work to enhance the effectiveness of its internal control system after first obtaining the two certifications last year.
This year, it transitioned its anti-bribery management system to meet the revised ISO 37001 standard. It reflected requirements related to climate change issues, fostering an anti-bribery culture, managing conflicts of interest, and raising employee awareness and training in its internal manuals and work procedures.
In the ISO 37301 surveillance audit, the overall adequacy and effectiveness of the compliance management system's operation were examined, including compliance obligations, risk management, internal audits, and management reviews.
Kang Seok-jin, chair of Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME), said, "Maintaining these certifications is the result of continuously improving and embedding anti-bribery and compliance systems that meet international standards in our work," adding, "We will respond to international standards and advance our internal control system to lead the operation of an institution that the public and small and medium-sized ventures can trust."
