Hanwha(000880) said on the 27th that it will hold the "Seoul International Fireworks Festival 2026 with Hanwha" around Yeouido Hangang Park in Seoul on the 5th of next month.
The Seoul International Fireworks Festival is a flagship social contribution event that Hanwha Group has continued since 2000 and draws more than 1 million visitors every year. The festival held at the end of September last year was moved up to Sept. 5 this year, taking into account the Chuseok holiday schedule and demand from foreign tourists.
This year's festival theme is "Your Infinite Colors." Hanwha said it will show fireworks capturing stories of emotion and hope created as diverse lights come together. Three teams in total—Hanwha, the United States, and the United Kingdom—will participate in this festival.
The festival begins at exactly 8 p.m.. The U.K. team will perform for 15 minutes to the K-pop Demon Hunters track "Soda pap." Then, starting at 8:15 p.m., the U.S. team will perform to "O Fortuna."
Hanwha's performance starts at 8:40 p.m.. Hanwha plans to stage an emotional fireworks scene set to singer Lee Sora's song "The wind blows." This year, "tower fireworks" using Wonhyo Bridge and a "decalcomania" display, with fireworks unfolding symmetrically from both sides of the sky over the Han River, will debut.
Hanwha will mobilize more than 5,000 people, including 1,200 employees in the volunteer corps, the largest number ever. It will monitor the site using the real-time crowd density measurement system "Orange Safety," linked with telecom companies, and KT's 5G network slicing technology, the event's official sponsor. It will also set up a joint situation room with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters, and the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
After the event, 1,200 members of Hanwha's volunteer corps will clean areas of Yeouido and Ichon Hangang Park. For citizens who cannot make it to the site, there will be a live online broadcast through the official YouTube channel "Hanwha TV."
