Hyundai Elevator said on the 19th that it obtained green technology certification and green technology product verification for the WB250, a regenerative power conversion device (inverter) applied to high-speed elevators.
Regenerative inverters apply technology that recovers electricity generated during elevator operation and reuses it for building lighting and air-conditioning systems. Hyundai Elevator said the regenerative inverter can cut power consumption by up to 64% compared with a standard inverter.
The WB250 applies technology that improves power conversion efficiency, boosting the energy efficiency of high-speed elevators that use large-capacity power.
The "green technology certification" obtained by the WB250 certifies a product's eco-friendly technology, and the "green technology product verification" confirms that the certified technology has been applied to an actual product. The certification is valid through July 22, 2030.
Earlier, Hyundai Elevator also received green technology certification in 2024 for its medium- and low-speed inverter.
A Hyundai Elevator official said, "By obtaining green technology certification, we expanded the scope of eco-friendly product applications," adding, "We will continue to develop technologies that can reduce energy use and improve efficiency during elevator operation to contribute to low-carbon green growth."
