Shipbuilding, materials, and parts corporations Hankuk Carbon said on the 18th it will integrate four wholly owned subsidiaries through small-scale absorption mergers. In particular, it plans to strengthen its aerospace business through the merger of the aircraft development corporations KAT.
Hankuk Carbon will absorb and merge KAT, LEAPS, Korea Global Solution, and HC Networks. The merger date is Nov. 2.
Hankuk Carbon said, "Through this merger, we plan to integrate dispersed technology, personnel, research and development, and business operations to enhance business competitiveness."
KAT is an aircraft development corporations that covers everything from the design of aerospace composite parts to airframe production for electric-powered crewed and uncrewed aircraft. It has capabilities in design, testing and evaluation, and manufacturing in the fields of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), urban air mobility (UAM), and space and aviation. It is engaged in businesses such as developing aerospace composite parts in connection with Hankuk Carbon's composite materials technology.
Hankuk Carbon said, "We will accelerate the internalization of the aerospace composite business by directly combining the development capabilities in aerospace and future mobility held by KAT with Hankuk Carbon's composite materials technology."
