The Ministry of SMEs and Startups and its Korea SMEs & Startups Distribution & Marketing Agency said on the 14th that they will run a dedicated pop-up store for small and medium-sized enterprise products inside Incheon Airport for two months.
The pop-up store is designed to promote outstanding SME products to domestic and international travelers visiting Incheon Airport and to increase visits to "Policy Duty Free (Panpan Duty Free)," a SME-only duty-free shop run by the agency.
From today to Oct. 12, for 60 days, the pop-up store will operate near the H check-in counter in the general area on the third floor of Terminal 1 at Incheon Airport.
The pop-up store will feature products from companies listed in the Policy Duty Free. Every 15 days, 50 companies will rotate in, for a total of four rounds. A total of 200 SMEs plan to participate during the operating period.
Visitors can experience various SME products, including Korean cosmetics and foods that are gaining popularity overseas, through tasting, sampling, and demonstration events. A drawing event and social media (SNS) verification event will also run in parallel to boost visitor participation.
Lee Tae-sik, CEO of the agency, said, "Timed with the summer vacation season, this pop-up store will help boost visits to Policy Duty Free stores, lead to purchases of SME products, and ultimately support expansion overseas."
