Hyundai Motor Group will unveil in Indonesia a pilot healthcare model based on the Kia(000270) purpose-built vehicle (PBV) PV5 Cargo and launch a pilot project for mobile medical services.
Hyundai Motor Group said on the 14th that it unveiled a pilot healthcare model converted from a Kia PV5 Cargo Long vehicle for medical use at the Indonesia International Auto Show, held from on the 30th to on the 9th.
The PV5 pilot healthcare model unveiled this time is equipped inside with a folding bed for patients, a medical chair, and an electrocardiogram device, enabling patient treatment and health checkups. It can also supply power for operating medical devices anywhere by using the external power supply (V2L) function.
Hyundai Motor Group plans to use this vehicle to promote a pilot mobile medical service project in BSD City, a Smart City in Jakarta, starting at the end of this year. The project involves Indonesian urban development corporations Sinar Mas Land and general hospital operator Eka Hospital.
In BSD City, medical facilities are concentrated in one area, and without a personal car, access to them is difficult, causing residents inconvenience in using medical services. To address this, Hyundai Motor Group decided to build a home-visit medical service model in which PV5 vehicles visit key infrastructure such as residential complexes, shopping malls, and sports centers to provide treatment and health checkup services.
Through this pilot project, Hyundai Motor Group will build a Smart City service model and then expand the project to other ASEAN countries. Jeong Ho-geun, executive vice president and head of Hyundai Motor Group's Future Strategy Office, said, "As a smart mobility solutions corporations, we will actively promote Smart City projects in the ASEAN market in collaboration with local partners."
