Chairman Chung Ki-sun of HD Hyundai received a total of 1.5624 billion won in compensation from HD Hyundai and HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering in the first half of this year.
According to semiannual reports disclosed by HD Hyundai and HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering on the 14th, Chung received 842.4 million won from HD Hyundai and 720 million won from HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering in the first half.
The 842.4 million won received from HD Hyundai was all salary. The company said it paid the amount after considering Chung's position and role under its executive compensation criteria. There were no bonuses, stock option exercise gains, share-based compensation, or other earned income.
At HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, Chung also received 720 million won, entirely as salary. No bonuses, stock option exercise gains, share-based compensation, or other earned income were paid.
Chung concurrently serves as chairman and CEO of HD Hyundai and as CEO of strategy at HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, the intermediate holding company overseeing the shipbuilding and offshore business. He also serves as chairman of HD Hyndai Marine Solution and HD Hyundai Oilbank, and as CEO of HD Hyundai XiteSolution.
Chung's annual compensation last year from HD Hyundai and HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, including bonuses, was about 2.4 billion won.
