Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) said on the 11th it will support free enrollment in the "2026 group accident insurance" for workers subscribed to the performance reward mutual-aid program.
The performance reward mutual-aid program is a system in which corporations and key personnel jointly accumulate mutual-aid funds and then pay them out as performance rewards to key personnel who stay long term. Tomorrow Filling Mutual-Aid and the preferential savings mutual-aid program for small and midsize corporations' employees are the main products.
The program was prepared to reduce the financial burden on mutual-aid subscribers caused by unexpected accidents or disasters and to strengthen the social safety net. It will support up to 30,000 subscribers, and Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) will cover the entire premium, leaving no out-of-pocket cost for individuals.
Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) built a system so that new subscribers can apply for group accident insurance at the same time when first subscribing to the performance reward mutual-aid program. It reduced separate enrollment steps and increased convenience so workers do not miss welfare benefits.
Existing mutual-aid subscribers can apply for the group accident insurance on the Tomorrow Filling Mutual-Aid website until the related budget is exhausted.
The insurance provides 10 million won for accidental death and up to 10 million won for accidental disability. It pays up to 500,000 won for seven types of accident-related surgeries and 100,000 won each for fracture and burn diagnoses. In addition to physical injuries, a 1 million won mental health support benefit for mental well-being is also included in the coverage.
The group accident insurance is one of the education and welfare services provided to workers subscribed to the performance reward mutual-aid program. Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) also operates the SME welfare platform, Tomorrow Filling Learning Filling education, and vacation expense support programs.
