Hansol Logistics(009180) said on the 10th it will expand logistics infrastructure in the United States and begin full-scale operations of a battery cell specialized logistics business.
Hansol Logistics established a transportation subsidiary in Atlanta, Georgia, in April and recently built a new logistics hub in Kokomo, Indiana. Based on this, the company plans to launch a battery cell specialized logistics service for U.S.-based battery cell manufacturers and to ramp up its push into the U.S. battery supply chain management (SCM) market.
The battery cell specialized logistics service supplies returnable packaging required for transporting battery cells and provides one-stop services, including retrieval, cleaning and storage. It systematically manages the entire battery logistics process to support stable logistics operations for client companies.
A real-time transportation and delivery management system will also be applied. By using a radio-frequency identification (RFID) system and a GPS-based tracking system, the company monitors transportation status in real time and provides storage and just-in-time supply services through local logistics hubs. The company said this will improve clients' supply chain operating efficiency and help reduce logistics costs.
Hansol Logistics currently operates a U.S. logistics network centered on Los Angeles in the West, Atlanta in the East and Kokomo in the Midwest. In particular, the Kokomo hub is a strategic base in the Midwest that supports logistics operations for major battery manufacturers near Detroit as well as in the Indiana region, and it is expected to play a key role in providing battery SCM solutions that link the battery cell specialized logistics service with inland transportation.
Hansol Logistics began its battery logistics business in China in 2011, expanded into Asian markets such as Vietnam and Malaysia, and in 2020 broadened into Europe, building global battery cell logistics expertise. In China, the company has operated a battery cell specialized logistics business tailored to EV battery cell transportation, and, based on that experience and expertise, it is expanding its business scope to the U.S. ESS battery cell supply chain market.
