The POSCO labor union on the 5th carried out social contribution activities in Pohang and Gwangyang, including delivering consolation funds to the Korea Veterans Association for Korean War participants and holding a children's summer camp.
The POSCO union delivered 10 million won in consolation funds and rice to the Pohang chapter of the Korea Veterans Association for Korean War participants. The POSCO union said it provided support "to convey respect and gratitude to veterans who dedicated themselves to the nation but are left in blind spots amid difficult living conditions."
In Gwangyang, it held an overnight, two-day summer camp with the participation of about 300 children from local child centers. The camp featured survival swimming training and job-experience programs.
About 36 million won of the 50 million won in the Children and Youth Dream Development Fund delivered to Green Umbrella in July was used. The union also visited the camp site and supported a snack food truck.
The POSCO union said, "We will fulfill the union's responsibility so that the results of the ongoing 2026 collective bargaining create a virtuous cycle that returns to the local economy and communities of Pohang and Gwangyang, leading to revitalization of the local economy, support for future generations, and co-prosperity with the local community."
