Last month, new registrations of imported passenger cars in Korea totaled 30,976, up 14.3% from the same period a year earlier. Due to factors such as the end of the special consumption tax reduction, the figure fell 18.6% from the previous month, but the year-over-year increase continued.
According to the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA), imported car registrations last month were as above, bringing this year's cumulative total to 215,008. The cumulative figure rose 30.1% from the same period last year.

Tesla ranked No. 1 in monthly sales for six consecutive months since February. Tesla sold 6,612 units of the Model Y Premium last month alone, making it the top-selling model of the month. The Model Y Premium Long Range and Model 3 Premium Long Range sold 2,092 and 1,239 units, respectively.
BYD, which surpassed 4,000 in monthly sales for the first time in June, slipped below 3,000 in July, showing a slight slowdown.

By purchase type, individual purchases were 20,636, accounting for 66.6%, and corporate purchases were 10,340, accounting for 33.4%.
