Hanwha Systems(272210) said on the 4th that it will conduct recruitment of experienced workers for the space business division in the second half. The number of recruits will be in the triple digits.
This recruitment is part of Hanwha Group's investment in defense artificial intelligence (AI) and space. Earlier, Vice Chairman Kim Dong-Kwan of Hanwha Group released a mid- to long-term strategy for a 55 trillion won "AI space powerhouse" at the "Yeongnam region advanced industry development vision national briefing" held at Gyeongsang National University in Jinju, South Gyeongsang, on the 3rd of last month.
Hanwha Systems plans to invest about 20 trillion won in space fields such as very low Earth orbit synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites, a space AI data center, and a low Earth orbit satellite communications network.
Recruitment areas cover Hanwha Systems' core advanced space businesses across the board, including ▲ SAR satellites ▲ space AI data center ▲ low Earth orbit satellite communications ▲ satellite solar cells ▲ satellite service operations, sales, and strategy. Work locations by recruitment category include the Seoul plant, the Pangyo research lab, and the Jeju space center.
Eligibility requires at least five years of practical experience in related fields, including time spent earning master's and doctoral degrees at domestic and overseas universities. Hanwha Systems has also set up a dedicated website for hiring experienced workers for the space business division. Applications can be submitted online through the Hanwha Systems space talent recruitment site, and document submissions have been underway since the 31st of last month.
A Hanwha Systems official said, "This large-scale recruitment will kick-start Hanwha Group's investment in the space sector and serve as an opportunity to lay the core human foundation for Korea to leap into a space powerhouse," adding, "We look forward to strong interest and applications from ambitious and capable talent who will lead the global space market."
