Taelim Paper, a corrugated cardboard 1G producer affiliated with Global Sae-A, said on the 3rd that it carried out a summer kimchi-making volunteer activity at Bono Community Welfare Center in Ansan, Gyeonggi.
Employees who took part in the volunteer work made 1,500 kilograms of kimchi with about 600 heads of napa cabbage. The kimchi was delivered to 250 households, including older adults who collect paper resources in the Ansan area and people in vulnerable groups.
Now in its fourth year, the kimchi-sharing program was organized to support older adults who collect waste paper and handle the first step of paper recycling. Taelim Paper is building a mutually beneficial system that enables the local community and the resource-circulation ecosystem to grow together by partnering with older adults who collect paper resources.
This volunteer activity used 10 million won raised through the employee walking donation campaign "Walk with Taelim." Now in its fourth year, the campaign is Taelim Paper's social contribution effort in which the company creates a donation fund when employees' total steps reach 100 million. Employees meet the target step count each year and take part in sharing for the local community.
Chief Executive Officer Jeong Dong-ha of Taelim Paper said, "The older adults who collect paper resources are invaluable people who help form the starting point of resource circulation," adding, "We will continue to grow with the local community through social contribution activities linked to the characteristics of our business, and strive to contribute to spreading a sustainable resource-circulation culture."
