Tesla Korea will offer its own support funds only to consumers in regions where electric-vehicle subsidies have run out.
Tesla Korea said on the 3rd that it will provide its own support funds equivalent to national subsidies for customers residing in regions where subsidies have closed and no extra budget is planned. The benefit is offered only to customers who take delivery of a vehicle by Sept. 30.
When you buy an EV, you receive both national subsidies and local government subsidies, but as EV sales have surged recently, local governments with exhausted related budgets are emerging one after another. First-half domestic sales were 851,000 units, up 1.3% from a year earlier, and EVs among them soared 113.6% to 198,509 units.
Under this support program, Tesla vehicles eligible for subsidies are five models: ▲ Model 3 RWD (1.68 million won) ▲ Model 3 Performance (2 million won) ▲ Model Y Premium RWD (1.7 million won) ▲ Model Y Premium Long Range AWD (2.1 million won) ▲ Model Y L (2.15 million won).
Tesla Korea said that customers who ordered before the program's launch can receive support on the same terms if they meet the conditions, and noted that the status of local government subsidies can change in real time, so please contact a Tesla Store or your delivery advisor for details.
