SM C&C said on the 3rd that it appointed Choi Young-in, former head of SBS's entertainment division, as the new head of its entertainment business unit.
After graduating from the Department of Oriental History at Seoul National University, Choi spent 36 years at EBS and SBS leading content planning and production and organizational operations, establishing a reputation as a broadcast content expert. Choi served as head of SBS's entertainment division and later led Studio Prism's production business unit as its head, overseeing content production and business diversification.
Representative works include "Nightline," "Healing Camp," "Fantastic Duo," and "My Ugly Duckling." Choi's content production capabilities have been recognized with awards including the best entertainment program award at the 37th Baeksang Arts Awards, the Korea Broadcasting Producers Association's best entertainment program award, the Korea Broadcasting Awards' best variety/entertainment TV program award, and the Korea Content Awards' prime minister's commendation.
Going forward, Choi plans to focus on branding and advancing the digital studio business of SM C&C's entertainment business unit. Based on long-accumulated know-how in content production, Choi aims to strengthen the digital studio's identity and enhance business competitiveness by discovering differentiated original content and intellectual property (IP).
