Hyundai Elevator said on the 30th it will push to introduce a "safety master track" that uses senior employees' on-site experience and skills in safety management.
The safety master track is a program that develops senior employees with diverse hands-on experience into safety experts. Based on their understanding of elevators and worksites, it trains personnel who can identify and manage risk factors in the work process in advance.
Elevator installation and maintenance work proceeds simultaneously at multiple sites and requires an understanding of electrical, mechanical, and structural systems overall. Hyundai Elevator determined that leveraging internal personnel familiar with worksites and products in the safety field can enhance management capabilities. It also provides senior employees with a professional career they can continue before and after retirement age.
Participants complete eight weeks of safety expert training, followed by three to six months of on-site practice. The curriculum includes an introduction to elevators; component structure and operating principles; installation processes; electrical control; maintenance; relevant laws and regulations; and practical on-site safety management.
Hyundai Elevator plans to assign employees who complete the training to safety management roles to respond proactively to on-site risks. It also plans to accumulate the experience and skills employees have built as the organization's safety management asset.
