The small and medium enterprise ombudsman said on the 29th that it is seeking nominations for the "2026 minister's commendation for regulatory innovation for small and medium enterprises."
This commendation aims to identify individuals and organizations that have achieved outstanding results in identifying regulatory obstacles, driving regulatory innovation, resolving difficulties, and boosting corporate vitality, and applications will be accepted from the 30th through Aug. 21.
Those eligible include administrative and public institutions and public officials, businesspeople, and organizations that have proactively identified and improved unreasonable regulatory obstacles. After an open call and recommendation process, individuals and organizations with at least two years of clear merits in the field will be selected.
This year's awards will total around 45, including five Ministry of Finance and Economy Minister's commendations and 40 Ministry of SMEs and Startups Minister's commendations. The final honorees will receive commendations at the "2026 small and medium enterprise regulatory innovation awards," and best practices will be shared to spread the outcomes of regulatory innovation.

Choi Seung-jae, the small and medium enterprise ombudsman, said, "Even amid difficult economic conditions, removing unreasonable regulations for innovation is our core task," and added, "We will actively identify the unsung contributors who have led regulatory innovation in the field and widely publicize their dedication and achievements."
