Jin Air said on the 28th it will launch a new route operating twice a week between Incheon and Yichang in Hubei province, China, starting Sept. 17.
The route will operate every Thursday and Sunday from Sept. 17 to Oct. 11. The outbound flight departs Incheon Airport at 8:25 p.m. and arrives at Yichang Airport at 10:55 p.m. local time, and the inbound flight departs Yichang at 11:55 p.m. and arrives in Incheon at 4:05 a.m. the next day. Flight time is about 3 hours 30 minutes.
From Oct. 12 to Nov. 29, the fall travel peak season, it is scheduled to operate four times a week on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
Yichang is connected by land to Zhangjiajie and is a popular linked tour course. A Jin Air official said, "With this launch, passengers will be able to tour the world-class scenery of Zhangjiajie's signature attractions—Tianmen Mountain, Yuanjiajie and Ten-Mile Gallery—on a more convenient schedule," adding, "Yichang itself also boasts outstanding tourism appeal, including the Yangtze River's spectacular landscapes at the Three Gorges and the majestic sight of the Three Gorges Dam."
With this new launch, fall travel options are expected to expand further. Jin Air is also set to resume service to Qingdao and Yantai in August. The Incheon–Qingdao route will resume with six weekly flights starting Aug. 8, and from September it will operate once daily. The Incheon–Yantai route will begin once-daily service starting Aug. 18.
In line with its expansion of China routes, Jin Air will run a fare discount promotion of up to 15% on the Incheon–Qingdao and Incheon–Yantai routes through Aug. 2. The travel period runs through Oct. 24, and the discounted tickets also include a free 15 kg checked-baggage allowance.
