Hankook Tire & Technology(161390) said on the 27th that it will supply the ultra-high-performance super sports tire "Ventus S1 evo Z" as original equipment (OE) for Porsche's 911 Carrera sports car.
The 911 Carrera is a vehicle with a rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. To achieve the optimal balance between dry and wet performance, precise steering response, strong grip, and outstanding high-speed stability, the tires also must deliver top-tier performance.
Accordingly, Hankook Tire & Technology completed a 911 Carrera-dedicated tire after years of research, development, and verification. The front and rear axles each apply optimized tread designs and profile shapes tailored to their driving characteristics, and a dedicated compound was developed to deliver the performance demanded of a high-performance sports car. With the application of special resins and high-loading silica, stable performance was secured on both dry and wet roads.
A Hankook Tire & Technology official said, "By implementing a dedicated design optimized for the differing loads and driving dynamics of the front and rear axles, we met Porsche's stringent performance targets," and added, "We obtained Porsche's official certification marking 'NA2,' indicating these are OE tires optimized for the 911 Carrera."
