Hyundai Motor(005380) will provide official protocol vehicles for the first Korea–Central Asia summit to be held in Korea in September.
Hyundai Motor said on the 27th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on vehicle support for the 2026 first Korea–Central Asia summit with the government's preparatory task force at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Seohee Hall in Seoul.
The summit will bring together the leaders of Korea and the five Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan) to discuss plans for cooperation in the economy, diplomacy and trade, and is the only multilateral summit to be held in Korea this year.
During the event, Hyundai Motor will deploy a total of 33 Genesis G90 and G80 sedans for leaders, ministers and other key guests from each country. By putting forward Genesis' large sedans recognized for their product appeal, the company aims to support the smooth running of the summit while also boosting brand awareness.
Starting with last year's APEC summit in Gyeongju, Hyundai Motor has provided protocol and operational vehicles for major international events such as the G20 Johannesburg summit in South Africa and the Seoul and Goyang Korea–Africa summit. Hyundai Motor also plans to provide vehicles for participating delegations at the 49th ASEAN summit to be held in the Philippines in November.
