Chaevi, a domestic electric vehicle charging platform, said on the 26th that 300,000 items of customer personal information were leaked in an external hacking attack. It added that, because passwords may have been compromised, it is necessary to change them immediately.
Chaevi said in a notice on its website that it confirmed on the 23rd that 298,333 items of member personal information were leaked in a hacking attack.
Chaevi explained that after confirming the hacking, it immediately blocked the attack route and reported it to the Personal Information Protection Commission and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA).
By case, those where only email addresses were leaked were the most numerous at 164,858. It also found that passwords, emails, names, contact information, gender, and dates of birth were leaked together.
It emphasized that resident registration numbers, passport numbers, and card or account numbers were not collected and therefore were not leaked.
