Mercedes-Benz Korea (Benz Korea) said on the 24th that it officially launched the Mercedes-AMG GT 43, a new lineup of the Mercedes-AMG GT, strengthening its top-tier sports car lineup.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 43 is a performance coupe that pursues both agile, rear-wheel-drive dynamics based on motorsports DNA and comfort in everyday driving.
It is equipped with a Mercedes-AMG inline four-cylinder 2.0ℓ gasoline turbo engine that delivers a maximum output of 421 horsepower (ps) and peak torque of 51 ㎏f·m. It reaches 62 mph from a standstill in 4.6 seconds, and the top speed is 174 mph.
To enhance acceleration performance and response from a standstill, the engine features an exhaust-gas turbocharger with an electronically driven motor based on technology from the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team.
In addition, a belt-driven starter generator powered by a 48V onboard electrical system provides up to 10 kW of additional power as needed and supports coasting and regenerative braking.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 43 comes with the AMG Speedshift MCT 9-speed transmission, known for smooth shifting and efficiency, and features AMG suspension to minimize body roll and enable high cornering speeds.
The exterior reinterprets AMG sports car proportions in a modern way, highlighted by a newly designed front apron spanning the lower front. New trim elements have been added to the front fenders, and the rear apron has also been redesigned.
Inside, the folding 2+2 seats and a trunk that expands to a maximum of 675ℓ enhance practicality as a daily sports car. "T Map Auto," tailored to the third-generation MBUX infotainment system, is also applied.
Vehicle options include: ▲ rear-axle steering ▲ AMG Track Pace ▲ the Driving Assistance Package, which includes lane change assist, lane keeping assist, and brake assist ▲ multi-contour seats ▲ heated and ventilated front seats ▲ panoramic roof ▲ 360-degree camera.
Benz Korea will also unveil a limited "Launch Edition" of 10 units to commemorate the launch of the Mercedes-AMG GT 43.
The Launch Edition combines a silver exterior paint with red and black Nappa leather interior design, and features the AMG Night Package and Manufaktur black chrome trim. The AMG Ride Control suspension, which individually adjusts wheel damping according to road conditions, is also applied.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 43 is priced at 149.5 million won, and the Mercedes-AMG GT 43 Launch Edition is priced at 160.5 million won.
