Hyundai Motor Group said on the 21st it will integrate V2X (Vehicle to Everything) services, which have been operated in various ways around the world, and launch AllDayEnergy. V2X is a service that allows an electric vehicle (EV) battery to be used as an energy source in various ways. Like a mobile energy storage system (ESS), it can send EV power to the outside, and it can save expense by charging the EV during hours when electricity rates are low.
In Korea, Hyundai Motor is operating a V2G (Vehicle to Grid) service on Jeju Island that connects EVs to the power grid to store electricity or supply it back. In the United States, it is running a V2H (Vehicle to Home) service that allows EV power to be used as emergency household power during wildfires and other natural disasters, and in the Netherlands, along with V2G, it has introduced V1G (Smart Charging), which controls charging speed in line with changes in electricity rates.
Hyundai Motor Group plans to bundle these V2X services, which have been operated in various forms, under AllDayEnergy to provide customers with a consistent and reliable user experience. Based on the technology and know-how it has accumulated, it will debut this first in the United Kingdom and then roll it out sequentially through all Hyundai Motor Group brand car applications (apps).
To mark the launch of AllDayEnergy, Hyundai Motor Group is partnering with Hana Bank to run a sign-up event for the AllDayEnergy My Choice Installment Savings. For 5,000 new subscribers, it will offer an annual rate of up to 4.5% (a base 2% per year plus a 2.0% preferential rate coupon and a 0.5% automatic transfer preferential rate). It will also give out coupons such as SOCAR mobility platform EV vouchers and McDonald's and BBQ coupons.
A Hyundai Motor Group official said, "By operating V2X services under a single name, AllDayEnergy, we aim to provide customers with a consistent and reliable energy service experience," and added, "AllDayEnergy My Choice Installment Savings is the first case of collaboration between finance and energy services. While signaling that a familiar financial product—installment savings—and its preferential benefits will also be available in V2X services, we will actively push to popularize V2X."
