Range Rover, the sport-utility vehicle (SUV) brand under JLR Korea, said on the 16th that it hosted a customer-invited "2026 Wimbledon" match viewing event on the 10th at the British Embassy in Jung-gu, Seoul. The event was organized to mark the extension of the global partnership between Range Rover and the Wimbledon Championships.
The event went beyond a simple sports viewing and was planned with a luxury lifestyle concept. A JLR Korea official said, "For Range Rover owners with a passion for tennis, we vividly recreated Wimbledon's refined atmosphere to provide a differentiated customer experience, showing the brand's continued effort." Celebrities including actors Yoo Yeon-seok and Seo Ji-hye also attended.
To bring Wimbledon culture to life, the embassy garden was decorated with floral arrangements blending Wimbledon's iconic white, purple and green. Customers dressed to a white dress code and experienced British summer culture. JLR Korea heightened immersion with "strawberries and cream," Wimbledon's signature dessert since the 19th century.
Before the viewing, former national tennis player Lee Hyeong-taek, who has competed at Wimbledon, provided lessons tailored to each participant's level. Afterward, customers watched in real time the Wimbledon men's singles semifinal between Alexander Zverev and Arthur Fery.
JLR Korea displayed a "Range Rover SV Black" and a "Range Rover Sport SV" at the entrance to the embassy garden. Robin Colgan, head of JLR Korea, said, "This special event unique to Range Rover became a venue for building deeper relationships with customers through world-class tennis."
Wimbledon in the U.K. also highlighted its partnership with Range Rover. A prime example was the unveiling at the All England Club of the brand's first all-electric model, the "Range Rover Electric," ahead of order intake in the second half of this year. A JLR Korea official said, "Range Rover Electric is set to deliver a different level of refinement by combining a serene and precise interior, smooth output and the brand's signature driving capability."
During the tournament, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models supported transportation for players and tournament officials. In particular, the PHEV models showcased pure electric driving performance of up to 80 km (based on domestic certification) using charging infrastructure within the All England Club.
Martin Limbert, Range Rover managing director, said, "Through our ongoing partnership with Wimbledon, we share a steadfast vision for excellence, sustainability and modern luxury," adding, "Previewing Range Rover Electric at Wimbledon was a great opportunity to present the brand's future at a venue symbolizing prestige and tradition."
