Agricultural machinery corporations Daedong(000490) said on the 16th it will officially supply DJI's agricultural drones to the domestic market.
As Korea's agricultural drone market grows to 4,000–5,000 units a year, Daedong set a goal to sell an annual average of more than 1,000 units through this business.
DJI holds a high share in Korea's agricultural drone market. There are currently two official sellers in Korea, and Daedong will use its network of about 150 dealerships and service outlets nationwide to provide everything from purchase consultations to after-sales support as it works to expand the market.
Daedong will supply three models—T25, T50, and T70P—ranging from small and mid-size to extra-large. The products can be used for a variety of farm tasks, including pest and disease control, fertilizer and granule spreading, and field surveying.
The T25 and T50 are models that cover from small and mid-size to large fields and can survey fields of about 10–13 hectares in about 10 minutes. With an obstacle detection system, they fly stably even in complex environments.
The T25 can carry 20 kg of chemicals and 25 kg of granules, minimizing pesticide leakage. The T50 has a payload capacity of 40 kg for spraying and 50 kg for spreading, making it suitable for large-area operations.
The extra-large T70P can carry up to 70 kg each of chemicals and granules. It can spray up to 40 L of chemicals per minute and spread 400 kg of granules. It supports precise control and spreading operations even on large-scale fields.
Lee Gwang-uk, head of domestic business at Daedong, said, "Agricultural drones are expanding their role beyond control equipment to become key devices that realize data-driven agriculture," and added, "Daedong will build future agricultural infrastructure that boosts productivity in the field by connecting drones and AI solutions."
