Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI)(047810) said on the 16th that it completed delivery of six T-50i advanced trainer jets to the Indonesian Air Force (TNI-AU) and received the final acceptance certificate.
The completion of this delivery comes five months after deliveries began in Feb. under the contract signed with Indonesia in Jul. 2021 for additional introduction and export supply of the T-50i.
With this additional T-50i supply, KAI has exported a total of 22 T-50i aircraft to the TNI-AU. Earlier, in 2011 the TNI-AU signed a contract with KAI to supply 16 T-50i aircraft and took delivery.
Indonesia was the first overseas country to introduce the T-50i. It has introduced 42 Korea-made aircraft, including 20 KT-1 trainers. It is also participating in the international joint development program for the Korea-style supersonic aircraft KF-21.
An Indonesian Air Force official said, "The six newly delivered T-50i aircraft are expected to enhance the operational capability of the flying squadrons and make a significant contribution to improving pilots' tactical training capabilities."
A KAI official said, "The successful final delivery of six T-50i aircraft is a meaningful achievement that combines customer trust with KAI's aircraft development and production capabilities," adding, "We will also do our best in stable follow-on logistics support and technical support."
