Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) said on the 16th it will offer tailored training for export small and midsize corporations that need to respond to the European Union's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
The training targets small and midsize corporations that export products to the EU directly or indirectly, or are preparing to export. It will be held offline at major hubs nationwide from the end of this month through next month. Not only corporations participating in the "SME CBAM response infrastructure buildout" program but also employees of general small and midsize corporations may apply.
This training integrates the previous basic and advanced courses into one and adds problem-solving to make it hands-on. In the practice module, participants will directly calculate carbon emissions for a virtual business sites and draft reports in the format required by the EU. The training time has been extended from 3 hours to 4 hours, and the number of sessions has increased from 4 to 6.

In addition, Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) is recruiting a second cohort of participating corporations for the "SME CBAM response infrastructure buildout" program through Aug. 6. In this round, it newly introduced a support type that verifies corporations' self-prepared carbon emissions reports. Selected corporations will receive up to 42 million won in government subsidies, depending on the support type.
