The Ministry of SMEs and Startups said on the 16th it is recruiting small and medium-sized companies to participate in the "online export SMEs logistics support program."
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) is pushing the program to cut logistics expenses for corporations that export via e-commerce. It will subsidize part of the related expense if corporations use fulfillment, a logistics turnkey service mainly used by small and medium-sized companies, and the overseas logistics centers of Busan Port Authority (BPA).
If corporations outsource the entire order-processing process—such as product storage, packaging, release, delivery, and returns—through private logistics firms' fulfillment services, up to 70% of the expense will be supported, capped at 30 million won per corporation.
Busan Port Authority (BPA) operates overseas logistics centers in Los Angeles in the United States, Rotterdam in the Netherlands, Barcelona in Spain, and East Java in Indonesia. For corporations that store products at these centers or use logistics services such as local delivery, the plan is to support up to 70% of the expense, capped at 30 million won.
The application period for participating corporations runs through the 7th of next month. Details are available on the Gobiz Korea website.
Sim Jae-yun, director general for global growth policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS), said, "The logistics burden on many online export corporations has increased noticeably due to the deterioration of the international logistics environment," and added, "We expect this program to help solve the problems of export SMEs and open export routes to diverse regions."
