Hyundai Motor(005380) will provide escort vehicles to delegations from participating countries at the 49th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit to be held in the Philippines in Nov.
Hyundai Motor said on the 12th that on the 10th it signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) on vehicle support for the 2026 ASEAN summit with the Philippine ASEAN summit organizing committee (ASEAN NOC) at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).
Hyundai Motor plans to provide a total of 50 Santa Fe midsize sport utility vehicles (SUVs) through its local subsidiary in the Philippines. A Hyundai Motor official said, "The Santa Fe offers stable driving performance, ample interior and cargo space, comfortable ingress and egress, and enhanced advanced safety features, making it suitable for use as an escort vehicle."
The 49th ASEAN summit, to be held Nov. 10–12 in Manila, Philippines, is a prominent multilateral diplomatic stage where leaders and delegations of major Southeast Asian countries gather. Hyundai Motor plans to actively promote Hyundai Motor by supporting vehicles at this time when leaders, ministers, and chief executive officers (CEOs) of corporations gather.
A Hyundai Motor official said, "We are pleased to contribute by providing vehicles to a summit that will open the future of the ASEAN community together," and added, "We will work together to ensure that the 2026 ASEAN summit proceeds successfully."
