KG Mobility(003620) said on the 10th that it will carry out a "special inspection service for flood-damaged vehicles" for customers affected by natural disasters such as heavy downpours during the monsoon season and typhoons.
The service will be provided in areas damaged by heavy downpours through the end of Oct. The company will support the following: ▲ free inspections for flooded vehicles ▲ free replacement of consumable parts ▲ starting assistance for vehicles with minor flood damage.
KGM plans to form a dedicated service team for flood-hit areas during the campaign period, establish an emergency contact system, and, in coordination with local government offices in the jurisdictions, identify areas likely to experience flood damage to respond to customer inquiries.
In particular, if the area is declared a disaster or calamity zone due to flood damage, KGM will form joint service teams with nearby service networks and separately organize a visiting service team to carry out emergency dispatches and free inspections.
To that end, KGM will identify urgent consumable parts in advance, such as fuses and valves, and prioritize supplying them to the affected areas to minimize customer losses through immediate service support.
When vehicles enter any of KGM's more than 330 service networks nationwide, the company will check the extent of the damage and determine whether it is flood-related before proceeding with work. For flood-damaged vehicles without optional automobile insurance, it will also offer a 40% discount on repair costs.
A KGM official said, "If a vehicle is started after being flooded, it can cause serious damage to key components such as the engine, transmission, and other electrical systems," and urged, "Be sure to cut the power and either seek professional help or have the vehicle towed out of the flooded area to receive maintenance at the service network with jurisdiction."
