Mercedes-Benz Korea said on the 9th that it began domestic preorders for the first all-electric version of its signature midsize sport utility vehicle (SUV), the "The All-New Mercedes-Benz Electric GLC."
The All-New Electric GLC is the first model to use Mercedes-Benz's EV-dedicated architecture, MB.EA. The lineup being released now includes two models: "GLC 300 4MATIC AMG Line Electric" and "GLC 300 4MATIC AMG Line+ Electric." The "GLC 400 4MATIC Electric" is scheduled to launch in the first half of next year.
Customer deliveries are set to begin in the fourth quarter of this year, and prices including value-added tax and a 5% special consumption tax are 90 million won for the GLC 300 4MATIC AMG Line Electric and 94.8 million won for the GLC 300 4MATIC AMG Line+ Electric.
The All-New Electric GLC features the brand's new iconic illuminated radiator grille. Inside, a seamless 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen spans from the driver's seat to the front passenger seat. In the rear, the SKY CONTROL panoramic roof, with 162 starlike lights, creates an elegant atmosphere.
The All-New GLC has an 84 mm longer wheelbase than the internal-combustion GLC. In the front seats, legroom increases by 13 mm and headroom by 46 mm. In the rear seats, legroom grows by 47 mm and headroom by 17 mm. Trunk space is 570 liters, expanding to 1,740 liters with the rear seats folded. An additional 128 liters can be stored in the front trunk under the hood.
The GLC 300 4MATIC Electric delivers a maximum output of 310 kW and a maximum range of 616 km on the European standard. It supports 330 kW-class DC fast charging in Korea, enabling a charge from 10% to 80% in about 22 minutes. Buyers will receive one year of the PLUS plan for Mercedes-Benz's integrated charging service, "MB.CHARGE Public."
The All-New Electric GLC comes with an intelligent system powered by the AI-based MB.OS "super brain." It controls everything from infotainment and Autonomous Driving to convenience features and charging, and supports continuous upgrades via over-the-air updates. Users can access AI searches such as ChatGPT by voice, and the Korean navigation service "Tmap Auto" is included.
