Korea's leading paper corporations Moorim Paper has joined hands with the city-run Children's Museum "Seoul Children's Museum" to provide annual sponsorship of eco-friendly paper used for children's education and exhibitions.
Moorim Paper said on the 8th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Seoul Children's Museum on the 7th and will provide paper for a range of materials used in regular education programs and special exhibitions, including activity sheets, teaching aids, leaflets, and invitations.
Through this agreement, Moorim Paper will provide Korea's only low-carbon certified paper as well as FSC-certified paper based on sustainable forest raw materials. The plan is to help children naturally experience the value of eco-friendly materials and feel the joy of paper through various hands-on activities in which they write, draw, and make things themselves.
The agreement expands collaboration with Seoul Children's Museum, which began with a special Children's Day event, into annual sponsorship. Following last year, Moorim Paper sponsored eco-friendly paper for this year's Children's Day event at Seoul Children's Museum, and the scope of cooperation was broadened based on a shared goal of creating an educational environment that considers children's health and safety.
Moorim Paper's paper is already being used throughout the exhibition spaces at Seoul Children's Museum. At the special exhibition "Picture Book Studio: Ordinary and special," which opened on the 4th, a participatory program is underway in which children use activity sheets made with Moorim Paper's paper to turn everyday moments into stories through their own words and drawings. As they record their thoughts and memories on paper, children continue a creative experience that reflects on emotions and relationships.
In addition, Moorim Paper continues educational and cultural activities for children, such as sponsoring Moorim SP drawing paper that has passed the common safety standards for children's products for the "DDP Children's Drawing Contest," and providing eco-friendly paper for the "E-MART Tomorrow Children's Environment Festival."
A Moorim Paper official said, "We hope children can develop creativity by directly touching and expressing with paper while also naturally appreciating the environmental value that paper holds," adding, "We will continue various social contribution activities that use paper as a medium in children's education and cultural settings so the next generation can naturally experience sustainable values."
