Air Premia said on the 8th that it signed an interline agreement with U.S. low-cost carrier (LCC) Southwest Airlines and will begin connecting services. An interline is a form in which an airline links another carrier's routes to its own and sells them as a partnership.
By becoming the first Korean airline to sign an interline with Southwest Airlines, Air Premia can now offer connecting services from Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Honolulu to Las Vegas, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Denver, Portland, Nashville, and more.
Air Premia plans to sell more than 120 routes operated by Southwest Airlines in the United States and North and Central America on a single ticket. The related tickets will be sold through travel agencies and online sales channels starting at the end of this month.
Air Premia already operates interline services with Korean Air Lines, Thai Airways, and T'way Air. Following this agreement with Southwest Airlines, it plans to continue expanding its global network.
An Air Premia official said, "Through cooperation with Southwest Airlines, we can now offer broader travel convenience not only to major U.S. cities but also to regional cities," and added, "We will continue to expand cooperation with global airlines to broaden customers' choices and provide competitive travel services."
