A Korean Air Lines passenger jet scheduled to fly from Istanbul, Türkiye, to Incheon was delayed 24 hours due to a maintenance defect.
According to the aviation industry on the 5th, at 9:20 p.m. local time on the 4th (3:20 a.m. on the 5th Korea time), a maintenance defect was found on Korean Air Lines flight KE956 (B787-9) that was scheduled to depart Istanbul for Incheon.
The flight was to carry 276 people, but a defect was reportedly found in the braking system during maintenance checks.
Korean Air Lines determined the maintenance would take a long time and decided to deploy a replacement aircraft from Incheon. The replacement flight is scheduled to depart for Incheon at 9:20 p.m. local time on the 5th. That is a 24-hour delay from the originally scheduled departure time.
