Korea Startup Forum on the 29th officially launched the "Physical AI Industry Council."
Beyond recent Generative AI, "physical AI," which judges and acts autonomously in the real world—such as in robots, Autonomous Driving, smart manufacturing, and logistics automation—is drawing attention as a next-generation industrial innovation technology, increasing the need for collaboration among related startups and innovative corporations. In response, KOSPO launched the council to pool the industry's capabilities and strengthen a public-private cooperation framework.
Until now, domestic physical AI corporations have led AI transitions on the industrial front lines, but with policy discussions and support systems dispersed, there have been persistent calls for a representative channel that can unify the industry's views and communicate with the government.
The council plans to gather industry opinions to propose policies and pursue regulatory improvements, while fostering the domestic physical AI industrial ecosystem by expanding technology proofs of concept (PoC), linking investment and commercialization, and supporting entry into global markets. It also plans to spread physical AI use cases across various sectors—including manufacturing, logistics, mobility, defense, and service robots—and contribute to strengthening industrial competitiveness.
Participating in the council are 11 innovative corporations in the physical AI field: ▲ Realworld ▲ MegazoneCloud ▲ Bear Robotics ▲ Born AI ▲ BrainCommerce ▲ Seoul Robotics ▲ Agmo ▲ SOS LAB ▲ Elice ▲ PersonaAI ▲ HyperAccel.
The inaugural council chair is Hwang Hee-seung, CEO of BrainCommerce. Chair Hwang is an entrepreneur who has consistently participated in the development of the domestic startup ecosystem and the fostering of innovative corporations, and is expected to play a central role connecting the industry and the policy field around the council.
