KHNP formed a consortium with 10 major corporations, including Korea East-West Power, KEPCO KPS, KEPCO Engineering & Construction Company (KEPCO E&C), Hanwha Ocean, Doosan Enerbility, IBK Financial Group, Samil C&S, and Jungang Offshore & Heavy Industries, to take part in the bidding.

KHNP said that in the preferred bidder selection process, public interest, project execution capability, and plans for co-prosperity with the local community received high marks.

The KHNP consortium plans to sign an implementation agreement with Jeonbuk Province by the end of Aug. and push the project forward.
