Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises said it will begin taking reservations for summer peak-season resorts for 2026 starting on the 29th for Yellow Umbrella subscribers, to provide small businesses and self-employed people with opportunities to rest and recharge in Korea.
Yellow Umbrella subscribers can use 10 well-known resorts nationwide at member rates. Available resorts include Hanwha, Sono, Resom, Lotte, Phoenix, Kumho, Kensington, Yongpyong, Viche, and The Ocean.
Members can stay up to nine nights a year, with up to three nights during peak season and up to six nights during off-peak season.
In particular, with overseas travel expense burdens rising due to the recent increase in exchange rates, small businesses and the self-employed are expected to reduce their leisure costs by using major domestic resorts with their families at reasonable prices.
Reservations can be made on the Yellow Umbrella website (8899.or.kr) and on the Yellow Umbrella Welfare Plus website and mobile app. Phone reservations are also available through the Yellow Umbrella customer center (1666-9988).
Winners will be announced on Jul. 3 through a drawing, and remaining rooms can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis afterward.
Meanwhile, since its launch in 2007, Yellow Umbrella has surpassed 1.9 million subscribers and has established itself as a leading social safety net for small businesses and the self-employed.
If a subscriber suffers an unexpected accident, the program provides a group accident insurance benefit of up to 150 million won free of charge for two years. It also offers various welfare services, including operation of a management support team that provides expert consultations in seven fields such as legal, accounting, and labor, and training to strengthen business capabilities.
Lee Chang-ho, head of the mutual aid business division at KBIZ, said, "We hope Yellow Umbrella subscribers will create precious memories with their families while using domestic resorts at affordable member rates and that this will help revitalize local economies," adding, "We will continue to work to improve the welfare of small businesses and the self-employed through a variety of services."
